Join the Lehman Center for American History for a conversation with Michael Meeropol, eldest son of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, on the history and future of antidemocratic tendencies in American politics and life.

Michael Meeropol is a retired professor of economics and history. He is the older son of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg. When Michael was seven years old, his parents were arrested and charged with stealing the secret of the Atomic Bomb. Despite world wide protests they were executed In 1953.  Since 1974, he and his brother have worked tirelessly to discover and broadcast the truth about their parents’ case.  He has written and spoken extensively about the case as well as about American history since the 1950s. Since 2005 he has been a regular radio commentator on NPR about economics and politics. He believes the United States is in greater danger today than it was back in the 1950s of succumbing to authoritarian fascism.
